CBMC Kansas / Kansas City Year End Newsletter

I want you to know how excited I am to report what has been happening as God called me to the role of Area Director for CBMC in Kansas City/Kansas in May of 2016.  When I first became called to CBMC in April of 2015, it was as Chair for the Leadership Institute, a peer advisory group of Christian business owners, CEO’s, COO’s and president’s.  Over that first year, it became clear to me that God was calling me to serve and work with all men regardless of title or role in their workplace.  So this past May I began the new role of Area Director while continuing as a ChairMy vision for CBMC is simple—to help bring men to a more intimate, personal relationship with Jesus and if they don’t know Him, to build the bridge so that they can know Jesus personally.

Since this time, I’ve been growing personally through excellent training and development as Area Director/Chair.  The CBMC DNA is clearly founded in the cornerstone of The Great Commission to go and make disciples who make disciples in the marketplace.  Ninety-two percent of Jesus’ miracles were in the marketplace.  This is where I found Jesus and I know I’m called to serve men and their families here as well.

As R.C. Sproul says, “The invisible hand of God is always at work.”  I’m seeing Him at work in the life of my brother, Scott.  Scott definitely fits 2 Corinthians 5:20 as a Marketplace Ambassador for Christ.  He’s truly integrating his faith into his workplace for Christ’s glory. For the last three years, he’s taken his calling as a successful entrepreneur as he reaches out and hosts men twice a month in his conference room.  They read and discuss various books from HalfTime to What Radical Husbands Do.  I’ve seen him mentor younger business and professional leaders as they went through the Marketplace Ambassador 10 Attributes studies together.  He’s been a great encourager to me as Scott has opened up his training room for us to have our Leadership Institute Acceleration Team monthly meetings.  He established a benevolence fund for his employees to give to and help one another through life’s financial challenges.  He’s also established pastoral care for his employees in the workplace.  Our relationship all started when God connected us through one of his advisors around the National Christian Foundation’s giving fund.  “Generous” is a great attribute to have and my brother Scott is that and more. All because he desires to please Jesus and follow Him at home, in his community, and in the marketplace.

Currently, we have the following CBMC groups meeting or events held:

  • Leadership Institute Acceleration Team in Emporia, KS
  • Connect 3 team with Operation Timothy in Topeka, KS
  • Traditional teams in Overland Park, KS and Blue Springs, MO
  • Leadership Coach Training in Olathe, KS
  • Traditional prayer breakfasts in Overland Park & Blue Springs
  • Radical Mentoring group with Marketplace Ambassador 10 Attributes in Topeka, KS

Nationally, CBMC is very healthy as I’ve attended the last two President’s Councils and have heard amazing stories of life change throughout the CBMC network.  Marketplace Ambassador Advancement System and initiatives have provided a great platform to reach a man right where he is and to use technology to help us eliminate distance as an obstacle for meeting one-on-one.  I’m very excited about the future of the ministry and would ask you to please let me know how I can serve you and come alongside you as a brother in Christ.  Please check out our new website kc.cbmc.com for additional information on connecting with us.

I would like to ask you for your prayers for this ministry and myself as we work to help men and their families in their life journeys.  Please be in prayer about what God might be calling you to invest financially for His Kingdom as we reach men in the marketplace for Christ. Our ministry budget for 2017 is $75,000 and currently we need to raise an additional $15,000 by year-end to continue what God has begun. Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration of either a one-time gift or a monthly contribution as it would be a blessing and encouragement to me and Trudy as we continue reaching men for Jesus.

I want to wish you and your families a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with the hope of our savior Jesus Christ and His gospel message.  Praise be to God!
